Most of the documentary is a casual conversation between the filmmaker and the documentarian, but the most interesting parts of it is watching with Bergman some footage of his classic films. During the production of some films, like The Seventh Seal, Persona and Wild Strawberries, Bergman took with him a 16 mm camera to document the behind the scenes. While watching this footage of a younger Bergman run around with Liv Ullman and Bibi Andersson or discussing a take with Max Von Sydow, the older Bergman gets very emotional and nostalgic. In fact, he has little moles under his eyes that at times seem to be tears, really effecting the viewer who is familiar with the wonderfully emotional films this man has made. (More here.)
